• This is a patch for BMW CIC Professional Navigation, it patches the binary file and
• replaces the root certificate allowing you to sign your own FSC certificates
• from FSTOOL or E-SYS as OEM. After patching, auto-generated certificates will be accepted as OEM.

• This is ONLY for the US (United States) and ECE (Central Europe) software versions!
• You must update your CIC software to the latest version before applying the patch!
• Unlike other patches that float around, this one takes 10 seconds or less. There is no need.
• For multiple reboots, or hang in “Bootloader” mode, exposing the software to bricking or failure.

HOW TO USE IT

1-Format the USB drive with the fat32 file software
2-Copy file 01_PATCHER USB_AUTORUN copy_scr.sh to empty USB drive
3-Insert the USB drive into CIC, wait until it reboots and voila. (If CIC won’t reboot in 20 seconds, it means there is software incompatibility or already patched, please read previous requests).
4After the CIC has been patched and rebooted, you can turn on E-SYS or FSTOOL. If you go ahead and check the FSC status, you will see that CIC has been virginized and only the root certificate is accepted. The key you must use to sign FSC certificates is 00_PRIVATEKEYS fscs.der two other private keys (root.der and sigs.der) for which you will not have use, they are included only so that the certificate chain is complete.
5-To make certificates for your VIN, you can use files in the 03_FSC_TEMPLATES folder of the archive,
6-Upload them to E-SYS (FSC Editor) or FSTOOL, change ONLY VIN, sign and save as.

** VERY IMPORTANT: If you don’t know what you are doing when modifying the template certificates, please change only the VIN to match yours, do not edit other fields, including issue date.

After making all the certificates that you will need for your update, you can install them normally via FSTOOL or ESYS, other necessary certificates such as SIGs and FSC that you can find in the 02_CERTS folder of this file.

PLEASE NOTE, AFTER THE CIC PATCH GETS VIRGIN AND MAY SHOW THAT
FSCS AND CERTS SIG ARE REJECTED, AND ROOTS ARE ACCEPTED. THIS IS NOT A
PROBLEM HOW YOU WILL OVERWRITE IT WITH CERTS PROVIDED THROUGH FSTOOL

CIC 1B reading code with USB
Follow the steps below to calculate your FSC code for CIC navigation updates
1. Unzip the ZIP file to the root of an empty USB stick
2. Start your car and wait until the navigation software has fully started.
3. Put the USB stick into the USB port in the glove compartment
4. Wait 30 seconds.
5. Remove the USB stick and place it in your computer (Windows)
6. Check if the 1b.hex file is present on the USB stick (if not, go to step 2 and try another USB stick)
7. edit fsc.bat and update the year code (when needed)
8. run the command file fsc.bat
9. A “code.txt” file is created containing the FSC code for your car.
10. For next year’s updates, just update fsc.bat with the new year’s code and run fsc.bat again.
